The average monthly increase in the three months from 1 to March in 2011 was 0.9%, 0.7% and 0.6% respectively, while the corresponding increases in December 2010 to February 2011 were 0.8%, 0.7% and 0.6% respectively.
Excluding the impact of all government one-time bail outs, the average monthly increases in class A, B and C consumer prices in the three months from 1 to March 2011 were 0.8%, 0.7% and 0.6% respectively, while the corresponding increases in 0.7% months, 0.7% months and 0.6% months from December 2010 to February 2011 were 0.7%.
In all types of consumption items, the prices recorded in annual consumption in March 2011 increased by 21.8%, and increased by 23.7% in the CPI. The increase was mainly due to the increase in tobacco tax by about 41.5%. Food (excluding meals) increased by 8.8% and 8.9% respectively, and electricity, gas and water (up 7.8% and 11% respectively), clothing (5.2% and 4.5% respectively), housing (4.5% and 4.7%) respectively, outgoing meals (increased respectively, 4.7% and 4.7%), miscellaneous items (respectively, rising and falling) and cross items.
