Nike has announced that its current Vice President, Michael Spillane, will be vice president and general manager of Nike Greater China since June 1st. Spillane recently became Nike's president and chief executive of UMBRO (Umbro), which was stripped last year. Spillane will succeed Craig Cheek, who will be the vice president and general manager of Nike children's wear, responsible for strategy and growth, and support the company's main products around the world.

Spillane has brought over 25 years. clothing and Spin Industry management experience. In 1990, Cheek, who joined Nike, held several leading positions in the 23 years of serving the company. Recently, he led the footwear business in the United States and was promoted to vice president and general manager of Nike North America. He was then transferred to China to lead the Greater China region. Cheek will report to Trevor Edwards, executive vice president of global brand and category management.
