"Counterattack" In The UK Retail Sales Market: High Growth In Clothing And Footwear Sales

The National Bureau of Statistics announced Thursday that retail sales rose 1.9% in October, up from 0.1% in September.

Excluding car fuel sales increased by 2%.

The two are the highest since July.

British retail sales grew much faster in October than economists predicted, and cold weather boosted sales of winter goods.

Shoes and shoes have been the biggest increase in more than two and a half years.
